Psychologists – Join the Directory

You Became a Psychologist to Help People. Let Us Help Them Find You.

Building a successful practice takes more than clinical skill — it takes visibility. And for most of us, no part of graduate training covered how to market ourselves, attract the right clients, or stand out in an increasingly crowded online space. This directory was built by a psychologist who lived that frustration firsthand. It is designed specifically around the way psychologists practice and the way clients search — so the people who need your particular expertise can actually find you.

Let’s Face It: Marketing Isn’t Why You Got Into This Field

Psychologists are extensively trained in assessment, research, theory, and therapy. You’re incredible at the clinical side of your work. But let’s be honest—most graduate programs skip over the business aspects of running a practice. Marketing, advertising, accounting, and business management can feel overwhelming, not to mention “icky” for many of us.

But here’s the truth: marketing is essential to building and sustaining a successful practice. That’s where this platform comes in.

We’re here to help you increase your visibility, connect with the clients who need you, and grow your practice—without making you feel like you’re selling out. Our directory is designed by a psychologist, for psychologists. It’s intuitive, tailored to our field, and aimed at helping you focus on what you do best: providing excellent care to your clients.

Our Story

Building a psychology practice during COVID came with challenges many of us know well. Like countless psychologists, I invested heavily in trainings, marketing strategies, and resources focused on networking and visibility. Yet during the shutdowns—and even in the years that followed—many of the traditional ways of connecting with clients simply were not available.

When PSYPACT became available, I was among the first to apply. I knew I had the skills and experience to help clients across state lines, but I quickly ran into a new problem: the clients who needed my services often could not find me. I joined several online directories, but many were not designed around the specialized work my practice provides in testing and evaluations. The referrals I received were often mismatched, which created frustration both for potential clients searching for answers and for me as a psychologist trying to guide people to the right care.

Looking for a better way to connect with the people I could genuinely help, I took an unconventional step and joined TikTok. It was uncomfortable at first but opened my eyes to the frustrations of the clients we help. The platform allowed potential clients to understand who I was, how I worked, and whether my practice was the right fit for their needs. More importantly, it showed me how much people were struggling just to find the right psychologist.

What I learned through that experience was simple: there is a major gap between clients searching for help and psychologists who are uniquely qualified to provide it. Clients often spend hours searching directories, making phone calls, and navigating confusing information, while psychologists spend valuable time responding to inquiries that may not align with their specialties or services.

Building this directory required more than a good idea—it required the right partnership. My husband Nicholas Myszak, an engineer by training with an MBA and a background in large-scale Project Management, brought the expertise needed to take this vision from concept to reality. Together, we offer something this space has been missing: deep, firsthand knowledge of the psychology field combined with the operational and technical experience to build something that actually works for both psychologists and the clients they serve.

You Should Not Have to Out-Market a Corporation to Be Found

Building a successful practice takes more than clinical skill — it takes visibility. And for most of us, no part of graduate training covered how to market ourselves, attract the right clients, or stand out in an increasingly crowded online space.

Larger directories have made it increasingly difficult for independent practitioners to be seen. Visibility on those platforms is often tied to volume, marketing budgets, and corporate backing rather than the quality of care a provider offers. Some have listed providers with serious ethical concerns, and high-volume practices tend to dominate search results, leaving smaller, specialized practices buried.

The landscape is only getting more complicated. AI-generated search results and changes to how Google surfaces information have shifted the rules of online visibility in ways that are difficult for any individual practitioner to keep up with. Strategies that worked even a few years ago are no longer reliable, and staying current requires ongoing time and expertise that most of us simply don’t have on top of running a practice.

The reality is that building the kind of online visibility your practice deserves on your own, through SEO, advertising, and constantly adapting to a changing digital landscape, would take hundreds of hours and significant financial investment.

This directory is built on a different premise: that independent psychologists can build a collective presence together that none of us could easily build alone. It lets you focus on running your practice while FindMyPsychologist and its team help the right clients find you.

FindMyPsychologist is different from other directories. Every provider here is individually verified. There are no sponsored placements or pay-to-rank features. When clients find you through this directory, it’s because you’re genuinely the right fit, irrespective of your marketing budget.

Our Solution

Our directory is designed with tailored search filters and intelligent matching tools that reflect the real-world factors clients consider when choosing a psychologist. Beyond basic location and availability, the platform helps connect clients with psychologists based on the types of evaluations and services a clinic provides, along with other common preferences that influence whether a client feels a psychologist is the right fit for them. The directory also accounts for the evolving realities of modern practice and cross-state care behind the scenes, helping reduce mismatched referrals and unnecessary barriers in the search process.

We are also genuinely committed to building this platform around the needs of psychologists. If there is a specialty, evaluation type, or search term you know clients are using to find services like yours, we want to hear about it. Reach out with your suggestions—this directory grows stronger when the people who use it help shape it.

Peer Referrals

Our peer referral system allows psychologists to recommend trusted colleagues they’ve worked with professionally. Rather than asking clients for testimonials — which can create ethical complications around privacy and the therapeutic relationship — we showcase expertise through peer endorsements instead: a meaningful signal of quality that respects both the profession and the people it serves.

Expanding your endorsements is simple. Once listed, you can invite colleagues to endorse you — whether they are already part of the directory or not. It is a low-friction way to build a credible, professionally grounded profile that speaks for itself.

15 Years of Experience

Listening to Our Clients and Finding a Solution

You may ask why I’m qualified to help provide a solution. My name is Jessica Myszak, and I’ve practiced psychology for over 15 years and own a thriving private practice called the Help and Healing Center.

Over the past 7 years, I’ve been actively engaging with clients on social media. Like many of you, I invested heavily in trainings, marketing strategies, and resources focused on networking and visibility.

While opening my practice, I found COVID to be an eye-opener on how traditional methods of marketing were changing for our industry. I realized I needed to change my approach after sitting through too many mismatched referral calls, because my practice focused on psychological evaluations while the one-size-fits-all approach available focused more on therapy than evaluations.

Looking for a better way to connect with the people I could genuinely help, I took an unconventional step and joined TikTok and Instagram. It was uncomfortable at first but opened my eyes to the frustrations of the clients we help.

The platform allowed potential clients to understand who I was, how I worked, and whether my practice was the right fit for their needs. More importantly, it showed me how much people were struggling, and what they were struggling with, to find the right psychologist.

I am committed to building this platform around the needs of psychologists. If there’s a specialty, evaluation type, or search term you know clients are using to find services like yours, I want to hear about it.

Listening to the voice of our customers and personally understanding the requirements to perform evaluations in different states, I came up with a holistic approach that tailors the client’s search to reduce mismatched referrals.
